Static Cling Meatballs question

I'm preparing to order 19" meatballs for my ERA 289 and was looking for some info.

First, for proper positioning on the hood and sides, I will need to cut the meatballs to facilitate opening the doors and hood. Will this compromise the meatballs ability to stay put at racing speeds? Will the smaller portion of the meatball simply blow away because it has too little surface area to cling properly?

Second, what font is considered appropriate for the numbers? This is probably more a matter of opinion than fact, but I'll gladly consider them all!

Lastly, I've found a number of sources but if anyone has made a recent purchase and would like to recommend the vendor, it would be appreciated.

I ran static cling meatballs on my car at many track events to speeds of 140 MPH with no signs of lifting. The thing I would avoid if I had to cover a joint would be any kind of loose edge in the meatball. In other words, I'd trim the meatball so it has a smooth, even edge and the body beneath it is flat enough for it to cling well. I wouldn't try to trim it with a single cut and then wrap the excess meatball around a sharp edge. .... BTW, I would think that aligning two halves of a meatball could be tedious. I hope you won't have to remove and replace them very often.

When you apply static cling meatballs use original windex. Spray and wipe the area to be used, then wet it down with the Windex and position the decal. Use a squeegee to draw out any excess and a nice even pressure to remove the windex from underneath. Wipe gently with a paper towel and let dry for a few hours. They'll stay on like glue. I agree with Tommy to make sure there are no loose edges on the leading edge for wind to get under. I have reused them many times and I just keep them clean and put them back on their original sheets between uses.
