I am #3018. There are seven cars in front of me to be built.

If you are going to have your car painted prior to ERA shipping it, you probably need to add the paint time to the delivery time you were quoted. I would also talk to the painter about getting in the queue. Paint time can be long...don't ask me how I know.

Yes, I heard that. I'm still on the fence whether to have it done up there or locally.

Painting an ERA Cobra is more than just painting it. What I mean by that is there are services, like rolling the edges, getting all the body lines perfect, and half a dozen other things that I can't remember, but that CCC has on their Cobra services list. You're not going to get a better job than Connecticut Custom. A cheaper job, yes; better, no.

The door gaps have to be set. The wheel lips have to be trimmed and finished. All body panels have to be flushed up. The cowl edges should be rolled. As good as ERA's body is, it still takes a lot of work to prepare one for painting. I would suggest finding someone who works with fiberglass a lot. Here's what mine looked like after body work.

Oh you are quite correct. I'd guess the prep time to paint time is like 100:1.

Peter gave me CCC and one other contact to paint the car. Certainly their experience at painting ERA Cobras is worth a few extra bucks.
