Default System not charging

So a week or so ago I was on a cruise and noticed the voltmeter showing me the system was not charging. Came home and put spare alternator and voltage regulator on and it was working again. Went out today and had the same problem. Starting removing tape and looking at the wires which were all ok. Then found the feed wire to the battery from the alternator had a broken connector. Replaced that and it was back in business. I think it broken when one of the alternator bolts fell out a week or so ago and it torqued the alternator in a direction which caused the connector to crack.

All good to go now!

Phil

Congratulations on the trouble shooting Phil. Electrical issues give me nightmares. I usually have to consult Patrick. (the issues give me nightmares - not Patrick)

Phil wrote "I think it broke when one of the alternator bolts fell out a week or so ago and it...." You really have to go over these cars every winter and check/tighten every single bolt you can find -- I mean every single bolt. An alternator bolt falling out on a running engine could have been a lot worse.
