Default deposit sent

Talked with Peter today, what an awesome guy to talk to. Once you get him going you just hang on for the ride. Looking to get a slabside/fia car, havent really nailed down which one. Trying to replicate csx 2472 dragonsnake. Hopefully can get the details worked out on how to make it happen. So the wait begins.
Going to start ordering the parts to build the engine. Wanting a high revving (7500-8k rpm) road/track monster. 600-650hp should make it a rocket ship.
Well I guess I will see you guys in a couple years....lol.

honestly didnt ask, but he did mention that I should send the deposit ASAP. I figured quick would be 2 years slow would be 3. I am hopeful that this time next year I will be sending in my next check for the start of the frame. Once I get to that point I think it will start to feel more real.

OK, well think of it this way. If you decided to walk from New York to LA, and you devoted 8 hours a day to your walking, seven days a week, you could walk from New York to LA and back again three or four times and you'd likely still be waiting. But, on the bright side, if you did that you'd have no problem pushing in the heaviest clutch.

luckily I already have a pretty good clutch leg. The stable has a gen 2 viper with a spec twin disc, gives me a good workout when I drive it. Cant wait to have a vintage racer sitting next to it.

I love CSX 2472. Did Peter say they could do those fender flares? If not, I think you will LOVE the FIA based on what you have shared.

600+ HP would make it a death trap and 400 HP will make it a rocket ship you might actually enjoy driving (:

Here's some inspiration for you. This is ERA 2033. Sadly, I no longer own it.

If I close my eyes, I can still see Peter sitting across the desk from me a good 15+ years ago. Every time I would ask "Peter can you guys do..." he would look back at me and say "Pat, if you can pay for it, we can do it."

So we talked about it, they obviously dont have the molds for that but I was going to get the slabside and have Big B's do the fender flares. The thing we are trying to work out is the rearend. I want the ERA rear suspension and Peter doesnt know if that will fit in the frame of the slabside. If it does then we are off to the races, if not I will get the FIA.

I plan on racing it so would prefer the ERA rearend, big brakes and all the other goodies.

Absolutely, Peter's last comment was he will work to make it happen. He wanted to make sure that I was gonna get the look I was going for. Dont find that in companies to often anymore.

As I used to tell my customers "Nothing is impossible. The impossible just takes a little longer and costs more money."

I will say that the ERA outboard braked rear is a joy to work on. Compared to a regular Jag rear it's night and day. Just imagine if a Jag rear car pulls in and says "I want you to change out the rear pads and rotors. And I need the car back this afternoon."

Here are some original photos I took of CSX2472 in 1968, auto crossing in Pittsburgh.

I like the idea of replicating a specific (CSX) car. Once mine is finished I check which one it could be ;-)

I sent my deposit on 4/1. Peter told me that a significant number of people had cancelled orders and the wait would be about 12 months.

On the ERA Facebook group there is a gentleman that said he cancelled a 289 order and has some parts for sale.

Thats unfortunate that people had to cancel their orders but I would be overjoyed to be getting my car early. I saw the guy who had parts for sale and was considering buying all of it but half those parts i could not use.

I would love a CSX 2001 replica in it's current restoration state. Love the fenders.
