289 FIA - Wheels and Tyres
 Hi Guys,
What manufacture wheels and tyres would you recommend for a 289 FIA
looking for 6 pin Knockoff wheels as close to the authentic as I can get.

What is the size and offset for F & R

In respect of Tyres, I would like to replicate the original Goodyear Billboards, but looking for a modern tyre which doesn't throw too many rocks.

 Thanks for any input

 David

as close as you can get are the 6,5” and 8,5” Magnesium wheels from Crostwaite and Gardiner, UK or Marvic, Italy |

				 ERA's Outstanding Service
Just received some small replacement items requested last week for my Slabside. Your fast service and thoughtfulness is much appreciated.
Not only is the Slabside a joy to own but the after sales service is outstanding.

 Thanks ERA!

I am drlighted that you have enjoyed great service from ERA, but it doesn’t address the questions that I raised in my thread? 🤷🏼*♂️ |

 Or via Mr Fran Kress
Just know that the price difference between mag and alloy is about x 5.
$1200 or so for alloy
$5300+ for mag

 | sure, but the goal of the threadopener is
"as close to the authentic as I can get"
and that is mag in 6,5" and 8,5" for a FIA
apart from that I wouldn't know a source for alloy in 6,5" and 8,5" |

I prefer the 26.5 goal as that is Billboard size, Powercusion and Bluedot size.Currently I have Mickey T on a 427 I am working on, definitely getting extreme diameter.

Understand that the as close to original part, most people live with the $1200 option with 7.5 and 9.5 as $4000 is a lot of cash for something that's hard to see once on the car.

I don't know if they are really available from them or not. But cobra restorers have aluminum Fia's listed starting at $2550.00 in 6,5 and 8.5. They say also avalible in Mag . not sure who makes them. |

ET Wheels or PS Engineering are options... The PS Engineering wheels have some vice subtle features that look closer to original than other (non-mag) FIA's that I've seen. I had a set a few years back and loved the look. http://www.psvintagewheels.com/

 | Hi David,

Following is a picture Brett's (BJ's Snake ) FIA replica. I'm sure he won't mind me posting a picture as it's a brother car to my FIA, so has Trigo pin drive wheels, 7.5" fronts and 9.5" rears, same as mine. It's shod with Avons that, as you see, are marked as Goodyear Eagles.

Cheers,
Glen |

 Glen
They look great! Not only a $ saving but the annual upkeep of magnesium is also a factor.

Take Bob's advice. Bob Lacey at Vintage Wheels is great to work with and he knows the right sizes for the ERA cars. |
