Yours sounds like a non-typical ERA set up.

Snap a pic of what you used to have and post it. That doesn't sound stock.

Swung by the parts store to pick up a new one which reminded me that the "shock absorbing bushing assortment" pack I had bought previously didn't have any of the right size and shape, so I wound up using the rubber insert from an expansion plug replacement. Maybe that's why it didn't last long. Here is a pic without the bushing, and with a new replacement from the $3 expansion plug I'll be using for now.

Well that looks like it helps the engine from torquing over... but I ain't got one on my FE.

I would fit a cup washer, even a welch plug with a hole in the centre, to retain the OD of the bush. Your current flat washer will just split the bush you have now.
