Right Side Brake Light Not Working on 821
My right side brake light does not work. Troubleshooting this problem I have checked all of the fuses including the 2 amp fuses under the steering column and the taillight bulbs and all are good. All of the lights work except the right side brake light. I checked for 12v at the trailer relay under the dash. The yellow wire has 12v but the green wire does not when the brakes are applied.
My conclusion is that the "Taillight Relay To Trailer" has failed.

Am I missing anything here? Any other possibilities?

Swap the green and yellow connections on one side of the 2 amp fuse block and see if everything now works properly except the left brake light. |

Patrick -I made the wire swap as suggested. With the swap the right side worked and the left side did not. Doesn't this confirm my suspicions about the trailer relay board?

 | They're pretty easy to source. If you have a nice locally owned NAPA or the like just stop in there tomorrow and tell them you want a three in to two trailer relay like this:

But some are better than others. Some are "heavy duty" and seem to allow more current to pass. Some say they don't work with LEDs, some say they do. Here's a pic of the assembly so you can see how to pop it out and then replace the trailer relay itself. Before you do a "final install" double check that it works properly. |

I sent the whole assembly, minus the flasher, to whodeeny. He should get it in the next couple of days. |

 Excellent. No splicing required. |
