Default Heated Seat Kit

Have any of you installed heated seat kits into your ERA 427 Cobra leather seats? If so, how easy is the disassembly and reassembly of the seats? And where did you get the heated seat kit? I would love to learn from anyone else’s experiences.

Eat a bunch of real hot chili peppers, the seat will be plenty warm the next day

ERA supplied the kit with 838. Easy to wire and a nice way to hide the switches.

They installed the elements under the leather.

Thank y’all! While the real hot chili peppers sounds like a plan, I think I’ll skip that idea! 🤣. I think I’ll check with ERA for their advice.

How did ERA hide your switches? I have 821 also with heated seats that ERA installed. ERA just left the switches lying loose under the seats on my car.

Here's where I hid the switches on 629.

I purchased my seat heaters from Cobra Heat and went with their waterproof version:
https://cobraheat.3dcartstores.com/
Can't address mounting them in the seats because I had them shipped to ERA and they installed them as they were building the seats.

Below is a photo showing the routing of the wiring. On the right you can see the wiring hanging down from a grommet and, on the left under the door sill, the wiring coming out of a grommet.

As for the switches, I mounted mine out of sight on the bottom flange of the dash. I lined them up with the outside edges of instruments so I know exactly where they are without seeing them. The third thing you see in the photo below on the left is a marine stainless steel accessory outlet:

Hope this helps.
