Default Problems With ERA?

Okay,
We all know the good attributes of ERA cars, but what, if any, are some of the problems you have run into while building or driving your car.

Thumbs up Almost done, and all's gone well

Ikestaa,

I'm nearing the end of my build process, and so far I am very happy with the car and the company.

Everything has been well engineered, and has fit as designed. I have also received all of my parts when I needed them, and have gotten excellent support on any questions I have.

I'm getting really anxious to experience driuving the car.

The only problem I have with the company is their location!
I think they should also have a facility located in the souhtwest, maybe like oh I don't know...Las Vegas!!!!

Ikestaa, same here, I just finished putting mine together (November) and couldn't be more pleased! Went together in less than 2 months, NO problems (that I didn't create!). Well engineered product. The wait was long, but it gave me a chance to get all my parts together and ready for the assy. My last Cobra (Brand X) took me MUCH longer, things didn't fit, had MAJOR problems requiring creative solutions (fiberglass and chassis), not much factory support and when I finally finished it, it wasn't very close to my idea of what a Cobra oughta look like.

Thumbs up 9.6

I DIDN'T BUILD EITHER OF MY ERA CARS (427 S/C AND GT-40) SO I CAN'T ADDRESS THAT ASPECT AT LEAST NOT YET. THE OVERALL ENGINEERING AS WELL AS THE CRAFTSMANSHIP ARE ABSOLUTELY EXTRAORDINARY. THE DETAILS, ORIGINALITY, FIT AND FINISH ARE THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN.

AS SOON AS MY NEW GARAGE (AND HOUSE) ARE BUILT I'LL HAVE ROOM TO BUILD A 289 FIA CAR AND AT THIS POINT IT WILL CERTAINLY BE AN ERA CAR. I'M REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO BUILDING THIS ONE MYSELF AND WILL POST MY OPINIONS THEN.

I JUST DON'T THINK YOU CAN GO WRONG WITH ERA. IN MY OPINION (SUBJECT TO CHALLENGE, OF COURSE) IF YOU INITIALLY INVEST IN A "TOP QUALITY" CAR YOU CAN EXPECT A MUCH BETTER RE-SALE PRICE. I DON'T EXPECT TO HAVE ANY DIRECT EXPERIENCE IN THAT AREA BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T GET EITHER OF MINE AWAY FROM ME AT GUNPOINT.

OH, THAT'S RIGHT, YOU ASKED ABOUT PROBLEMS, DIDN'T YOU.

OK - - - THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE PAIN IN THE A$$ TO TRY TO GET REPLACEMENT PARTS FROM.

BOB! - - - BOB? - - - I'M STILL TRYING TO GET MY RADIATOR, COOLING FANS, BRACKETS, WATER PUMP, TOP AND SIDE CURTAINS. WASSUP???

OF COURSE - - THERE IS ALWAYS THAT TROUBLEMAKER ON THE LEFT COAST (VACAVILLE, CA, AS I RECALL) WHOSE LATEST PREPOSTEROUS COMPLAINT IS THAT "THE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR BULB IS TOO BRITE". NOW, THAT'S REALLY "REACHING". I DON'T HAVE A RADIATOR AND HE'S COMPLAINING ABOUT A LIGHT BEING TOO BRITE. (HI, TURK - - -HOW'S MY MAIN MAN??)

Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY,

BLACKJACK

Ikestaa

I think the bigest complaint is the waiting period, thats because ERA will not sacrifice quality for quantity. From what I have seen and experienced, they are one of the finest Cobra replicas. I have #148, yup its an old one, I repainted it 3 years ago and did some small upgrades, they were right there to help and supply what I needed. 17 year old car and they have everything I need to maintain it. I give them 5 stars and I dont think you will find anyone (even there competition) to dis there product.

Thanks guys. It sounds like ERA will be a solid investment. It's not that I ever doubted them, but naturally you start to wonder what you are buying. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of support on this website. I posted this around noon, and I already have more responses than I could have asked for! Thanks again.

Default I know something!

I know somethings bad about ERA.

Once I was out eating with one of their partners (Peter Portante), the one who does not believe in Internet or electricity. He ate my french fries when I wasn't looking.

During the last two years their most negative attributes have been the fact that I own one of their cars. I bet they won't make that mistake again. You are judged by the company you keep. I have done nothing to help them maintain their dignity.

Seriously, they are a great company. their participation on the forum is second to none. If you were to add all the posts from all other manufacturers they would fall short of the posts by one Bob Putnam. if you take away his responses to me it still leaves him with many posts addressed to other inquiries.

A friend of mine about 20 miles from here has number 004. It is worthy of any praise my car commands, and that thing is over 25 years old!

Look back, and read as many posts as you have the time. Surely you would think someone would have something unkind to say about them. After all us Cobra owners are not all that easy to please. See if you can find one single criticsm of the company by anyone who had any dealings with them? Remarkable performance. Car is good too.
