Default Got the fuel pump mounted

This took two nights to put together. Holley blue pump and a fram hpg1 fuel filter. It is 3/8 aluminum bolted into nut-serts in the frame. The pump is wired into the harness and all of the hoses are connected. The only problem now is the battery box cover on the other side can't even compare to this piece

If you have a little room, I recommend using rubber isolators for the pump. It'll keep the noise down. Available from

Default Regulators

SSSnake:

Just a random thought here. You didn't say what fuel metering system you plan to use when you get the engine installed (carb or EFI). I can't tell from your photo, but it doesn't look like you have a pressure regulator hooked up to this system (unless, of course, you are planning to add that up front). However, the Holley BLUE pump (according to their website):

http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin.../12-802-1.html

is factory set to 14 psi output. Their graph shows relatively stable pressure output of 12 - 14 psi up to 80 gph. This pressure is more than the needle valves in most carbs can handle, so a pressure regulator is usually required for carbed engines when running the BLUE pump. Their RED pump (the one I use) is set up to about 7 psi; I've measured mine at about 6 psi at idle and decreases to about 4.5 at cruise. It's my understanding that if you run much more than about six psi, you can overpower the needle valves and flood the carbs. Just something to consider. If I missed the regulator installation in your photo, kidly disregard all after "Hello" and I'll fade quietly.

Chopper,

We are using a Holley 4150 650cfm. It was recommended to mount the regulator as close to the carb as possible, so it is going in the engine compartment.

Hi Bob,

That was a little tiny scavenger hunt

Here's what McMaster calls'em: "Rubber Sandwich Mounts"

Took a little hunting, but hey, that's the fun of it!

Thanks for the tip!

Tom
