Default Signals don't work

Bob,

My left and right signals - front and rear - seem to have stopped working. Even the warning light on the dash doesn't work. I checked all the fuses and they seem fine. The rest of the electronics seem to work.

I'm now starting to think its something with the lever on the steering column....but the bright on/off switch works so maybe that's not it either.

Can you give me a list of the things I should look for .... from the obvious to the not so obvious.

Thanks

era620

P.s. I hate the electrical glitches since my most favorite tool is a hammer and it doesn't work so well with the electrons.....

620,

The dimmer is on a completely different circuit and wouldn't have any effect on the signal/brake circuit.

Since this problem seems to crop up from time to time , I'll post a troubleshooting procedure on the manual updates page. It's pretty easy to track down the problem.

10am Tuesday - I found a couple of errors and omissions.

Hopefully all fixed (and improved) now.

Default Signal Stat

Bob,
Following the link above, I have traced my signal problem to a faulty Signal Stat flasher. My new problem is that I can not find a new Signal Stat 180 flasher. Do you (or anyone else) know where I can get a new one or at least an equivalent one?

The Tridon Stat I tried replacing it with kind of worked (like a flasher on speed) after I changed some of the wires.

Thanks.

Recently I tried to locate a #180 flasher. The only parts house that had a listing was NAPA. It is an unusual application, they will need to LOOK in the catalog for it. Don't give up.
