Exhaust Hanger Problems
Bob,
The rubber strap that supports the sidepipe tore (from the bolt hole to the edge on the top of the rubber strip) on one side, and I am afraid that if we replace it with a similar part it will do the same thing. I did notice that the pipes weren't exactly lined up with the brackets when we installed the hangers. It took a little bit of coaxing to get them together, but we did everything as the directions stated. I was thinking that a heavy nylon strap, folded over to make a loop and sewn together on both ends, would serve the same purpose as the rubber strap, without the chance of it tearing. Do you think that it would handle the heat of the pipes?
