Default Wheels for big Brake ERA!

I'm at the point of ordering my wheels & I was told that PSE Kidney Beans won't fit my big brakes. In the manual it states "The 12.8" rotors will only fit in a 16" or larger wheel."(Pg. 15). Is this true?

That's what I was told, and is one of the reasons I have 17" wheels on my car. I wanted the big brakes to begin with, and then high/ultra performance tire selection pushed me over the edge to 17".

Default Big wheels for you!

Generally, the largest rotor you are going to get in a 15" wheel is 12.19" So 17" wheels for you. Forget 16", worse selection of tires than 15", if you can beleive it! All this for .61"

If you read it in the manual, you can be sure that it's true!

With 12.18" rotors in a 15" wheel, there's barely enough room for very thin wheel weights. That's how close it is.

Also note that to fit the Wilwood calipers the wheels must be "dished" outward from the mounting surface. The spec's are posted here.

The 12" brakes will fit into PS's pin drive wheels. They will not fit into the 15" Torq-Thrust wheels.

A lot of back & forth but I finally decided. I visited Phil at PS Engineering on Friday & we decided to go with 17" Kidneys. I figure if I don't like them I can always buy a set of FIA's in 15". I think I will like them
