end play on clutch lever.

What is the acceptable amount of play at the end of the clutch lever. I made all my measurements before attaching the zf to the ERA bell house. Based on my measurement it required no shims on the throw out bearing. I am cuurent getting 3/4" free movement at the end fo the lever. Do I need to remove the ZF and go through the measure process again. I know there must be some free play. As the clutch wears and the play will decrease.
