Default Braided Transmission Ground?

I assume the braided strap mounted to the chasis under the transmission gets bolted somewhere on the trans...anywhere...does it matter? Sorry about the dumb question.

I used two grounding straps. Both are bolted to the bellhousing. Jim

Joe,

Any clean place on the trans is OK. You might want to scrape a bit of the coating off the chassis too, and use a little grease to retard rust on the bare metal.

Bob/Joe-
Where is this ground strap supposed to be??

Right now I only have one ground strap and that goes from the motor to the frame. I do not have another ground strap on the frame by the tranny and I did not even see a space for one. Am I missing something?

Chaplin Mike, Your missing the baby feeding. You need one good strap for a ground. It doesn't hurt to have 2 or even 3 located around the motor, common use to be, 1 on each head and one on the bellhousing. You need the area for the grounds to be free of dirt and paint for the best grounds, You could but grease on the connection after installed to stop rust, or repaint the spot. See you on the 10th in PA. Rick Lake
