Default ERA Questions (timelines/windscreen)

I have read a lot of emails from those of you that have worked with Peter at ERA and I too have taken the time talk to him a few times before putting down a deposit. I thought perhaps some of you owners might be able to answer a few questions for me.

1. If I plan on having ERA get a painted roller for me, what should my expectation be on timing?

2. I really like the racing windsreen look and after talking with Brent via this forum he suggested he has the ability to change one out for the other on his kirkham. I am sure it is not easy, but can that be done every now and again with an ERA? Has anyone done that?

Kramer.

1. Expect about 8 months; i got pics of my car as it was being built. So far I can't say enough good things about the quality of work, communication, and after sale service.
2. No knowledge on that subject.

Hi Kramer,
you are getting an ERA @ a great time with there new changes, if your choice was the 427...as Steve said you cant say enough good....I will admit now that i have had the car for a couple years looking back 99% of the fun was going through the Waiting and build process and talking with Peter!!Its easy to say now the waiting was not bad but it was hard like anything else.....look at it as if your having a new Baby that takes 9 Months till delivery

Kramer,

I have seen several ERA's with the racing windscreen. Talk to Peter about what you are looking for and more than likely he will be able to make it happen.

We've done the combination of the racing 'screen and the standard windshield before. The only glitch is a single visible hole or two when using the standard windshield. It takes about 15 minutes to do the changeover if you're slow.

I have the racing windscreen on my FIA, which is fastened on with stainless allen head machine screws into nutserts.

Every ERA comes with the openings in the body and frame attachment locations for the windshield/frame.

Just remember that if you register the car, you will probably have to have the windshield on for DMV inspection.

Jim

PS: Pictures of my FIA are in my gallery.
