				 New I.D. Plate
 Bob,
Would it be possible to purchase a new I.D. Plate for my FIA(2107)? The original was filled out by Peter with a screwdriver or some other sharp instrument! (probably the fork he was eating with at the time)

 Thanks

 Tom

But I'm sure it was a proper British screwdriver.
Send back your ID tag with a note. |

Peter is not allowed to use sharp instruments. He probably tried to do it first with a crayon, got frustrated and used the toothpick out of his handy dandy pocket knife.

The id plate that should be riveted to the footbox in the engine compartment. The plate has provision for chassis number, type of engine, gearbox, etc. The plate should have come with the kit... back then (in the 90's) they were filled out by Phil Gaudette.

 Bob,
Will the new I.D. be engraved by a professional?

A professional... but not necessarily an engraver.

Jim. i hate to sound ignorant, but which footbox? (driver/passenger) and, can you be specific on where on the footbox? Will i have better luck looking for it from below or from above?
I don't know that i have one. I do know 291 is stamped in a couple of places.
sorry tom for appearing to hijack your thread.
thanks very much.

 Hey, Littlecobra
No problem! The I.D. Tag is mounted to the top of the passanger's side footbox approximately 1" from the front corner. This information is on page 57 of the owners manual. If you should find it, yours will prpbably be alot neater than mine.

I have seen directions that also show the I.D. tag on the Driver's side fotbox next to the throttle belcrank.

The early 427s had the tag mounted on the driver's side footbox. |
