2. You have posted that they have computers to communicate with friend and family and general internet use. Are this computers restricted not to enter Hurricane Motorsport site and other Cobra's sites like he accepted. Public computers are restricted to pornosites etc to avoid embarrassment etc. But restrict a kit car manufacturer from general internet use and recreation 7000+ miles away from home. I have restricted Porsche, Motorcycle, Yahoo, Hotmail and other sites in business equipment

3. Also he never defended that he was not using his work at computer.

I always like to learn new things. Which is my wrong assumption?

They can decide to block whatever they want. Just because some sites are restricted doesn't mean he's on a military system. The filtering may be setup to block any number of ways. If he manages access on the ground over there he has to have systems on that public network to manage it.

Enough debate on this.

Scott,

I'm sorry that I didnt see this thread earlier. I only read the first couple of pages of posts and your last post or two, so if I missed something I apologize. I think ERA is a great company with a great product. That said, I had the exact same experience that you are currently having several years ago. I sent my deposit, shortly after my wife got pregnant so I cancelled my order, rather than spending months in the garage.

Unfortunately Peter is the only guy who can talk money, or at least was when I was struggling with this. Everyone else there is extremely helpful, but as soon as its a deposit refund its peter's voicemail which seems like a blackhole.

I did eventually get my deposit back. It was very frustrating process. I don't remember exactly how long, I would guess 8 months or so from cancel to full refund. My frustration wasnt how long it took, it was that no one would call me back, or give me a date when I could expect something.

Feel free to send me a private message if you would like to discuss further offline. Best of luck, hang in there.

Now you KNOW the moderators have been watching this like a hawk... up all night, taking shifts, whew, they gotta be wore out by now. Patient bunch those guys.

After speaking with Peter by telephone and at his polite and (I feel) sincere request, I am posting to inform all that:
1. a resolution to our situation is in the works
2. I have been promised delivery of payment within 4 days
3. the circumstances surrounding the issue were not attributable to ERA as a company

Please accept this post at face value and refrain from dissecting it only to reassemble it in some attempt to fit an agenda, asking me to clarify what this/that implies or attempting some other inflammatory manuever. It is what it is.

Again, thank you to all who have remained neutral or shown support, good luck to all who have stood by and/or received great service from ERA and please remain dedicated to companies that give you great product and service...as individual consumers, that is the best you can do.

Glad it worked out for both of you. Hope your Cobra or GT40 dream comes true at some point.

Anyone want a full bag of popcorn with an extra large helping of butter to pour on.. looks like I won't be needing it.

Congrats! And thanks for posting the status!

Hmmm. Ten pages. Kinda makes you wonder just how powerful/influential this forum is.

pavulon 09-29-2007 01:05 PM

As posted in the temporary forum:

After receiving the balance of the deposit yesterday, I consider this issue resolved.
Best to all (perhaps a little less to the conspiracy theorists),
Scott

One night I started to write a post regarding this thread and stopped, realizing there was no need to stick up for ERA at that moment; knowing they would take care of it when they could. I for one felt very confident they would come through, regardless. No matter what the situation was in the background, and little to go on about what they were actually dealing with, if there was a way they could resolve and rectify the situation somehow, they would - and they did.

Yes - The internet and forums like this are a powerful tool. HOWEVER, it can be a really dangerous weapon against an individual or a small company when all the facts can't be presented openly by all parties involved at a particular moment in time; and then someone or a great reputation gets hurt as a result. It gets even worse if someone does not go back and clean up after it all making sure the good word gets back out there.

ERA builds incredible cars and they are a class act. Anyone who is fortunate enough to be able to own one and drive one, knows.

fsstnotch 09-30-2007 02:37 AM

Decooney,
That is the exact point I was trying to make. It's not about is people "thought" it would get resolved, it's about the appearance of a one sided thread.

Pavulon,
Glad to hear it all got resolved!
