Thumbs up Sam wins the autocross at R&G

The Street BB class was won again with a new ERA car. Sam came up from Texas and bailed me out this year. TOO many brain farts. We had 4 great days of racing and the ERA guys did well. Rick L.

Default And ...

... first place in the Road Course for Big Block Replicas If it hadn't been for a minor hole in #8 piston, I might have done something at the drags, too! Well, the motor is fixable with wrenches and parts .. didn't break the car. I must say it behaved very well at speed and being hammered in the turns. Spun out once, due to hot shoe and cold tires

Bob, I need to upgrade to a larger diameter fuel line and add an elec fuel pump to correct a lean condition. I'll give you a call for your thoughts on how to do that.

Sam

SSSammy-

I had ERA run a larger diameter hard line from back near the tank to the normal fuel pump location, so they have done it before. I think they did the same for Fred K's car as well. Congrats for a great R&G performance!

You all should have seen Sammy busting around the track like greased lightening. Sammy will be a force to contend with from now on. The MAN can drive. I thought he was Steve Clement more than once.

Great event and a tremendous turnout. Thank you everyone!

Sammy .... CONGRATULATIONS !!! You might want to talk to Doug at ERA . I had them run a 1/2" fuel line on my car as my engine builder said I needed it . If I remember correctly , it`s aluminum and fairly easy to shape and form . You will need to flare both ends AFTER you put the fitting over the line ... but Doug can walk you through that . You will also have to change your fuel pickup as it is 3/8" .
Again ..... way to go !

Default Thanks!

Wow .. thanks for the nice compliments! Now I have to deliver next year on the full 4 course meal

My Road Course time was 1:14 .. that was with three timed sessions before I holed the piston. Then ran a 1:20 on 7 cylinders until I saw all the smoke and pulled out. Track record for this event was 1:03, I think, and there were a lot of guys that ran faster than me, but in Prepared and Pro. I won Street Big Block. the neat thing about RnG is that there are lots of classes and lots of winners The Autocross time was 50.005 sec.

Entered the little car show on Sat, since I was not doing the drags ... here's a pic of how the car looked in race dress I took the slicks off and put the billboards back on for the show. That's Clyde Johnson of the Gateway CC presenting ..

Track pics will have to wait till the pro photog gets them sorted. He said he had a lot of shots of me. I don't know who else took any.
