Default Everett-Morrison Website

Talked to Tom Knickerbocker at E-M a few days ago. They are still up and running. However, their website was compromised last month and they are in the process of getting it fixed. They currently have 3 cars(rollers) in process and are surviving the current economic crisis. Feel free to contact Tom. He is a great help on build issues 281-842-1209 fax or 713-818-4155 cell. Tom,

I've tried calling that number all week, no one answers....after ten or so rings, it goes to a fax machine, you know, that screechy, staticy sound.

ALso,

I am looking for control arm rear bushing for the IRS in a GEN III. This is suppose to be a Mark VIII suspension setup but is closer related to the 2003 Cobra Mustang.

If you can please post or let me know how I can get replacement parts.

Please help

Thank you

The number Tom Keel posted seems to be a fax number. I faxed a parts request today and Tom Knickerbocker called me back an hour later. He was very helpful and they are sending the part out.

This is very sad news, but not a surprise.
The new owners just didn't seen very responsive to customer needs.
I had a great relationship with the original owners while I was building my E-M.
Just too bad they couldn't make a go of it

Hello all,

I will investigate to see if this is true. This will be sad if so. If members are still in need of some parts I maybe able to help.

I will keep you posted.

Default Question On Everett Morrison car and repacement parts

If EM is out of business, will there be a source for replacement parts?
Im new to Cobras and have my eye on an EM replica built in 1997. I guess my question is are many of the parts proprietary to the original builder/company or are there other sources?

TennCob,
Most everything can be sourced from other places. The body and some of the suspension parts may be tuff. A good welder could copy a left a arm by using the right side as a guide so that can be solved. Minor body issues can be fixed by a good fiberglass man but I don't know what will happen if one of us needs a new fender or perhaps an entire rear clip. Hopefully the molds will find a safe home with someone willing to make a part or two.

A Cobra guy,

Quote:
The body
When I needed a new E-M body I used these guys: Power Performance

They made the original 90" wheelbase bodies for the E-M. They also made pretty much everything else nearly the same, including chassis.

Their number is 515-289-2999.

Don't have any recent experience with them, so if you do get in touch, please leave us a note!

Tom

I too can provide some extensive knowledge with respect to the EM build. Let me know what parts are needed and I should be able to source them or point you in the right direction.

It is truly sad to see this company fall after so many years and then being acquired by someone. This version of the Cobra Replica certainly was a work of Art.

As far as I know, they are defunct. I have the build sheet for my EM, maybe there's some info you need. Be happy to share with anyone.

I am looking for a new dash (interior) wiring harness. I purchased back an E-M I built in 1997. There is a taillight problem and I am not sure what the owner did that brought it from the person I sold it to. The brake lights don't work, but I've narrowed it down to something wrong after the stop light switch, but before it connects to the rear section of the harness. I believe I still have the upgraded schematic , but having a time finding them. Any help would be appreciate. Thanks

I've never seen a schematic for my EM so consider this advice for troubleshooting brake light problems in general. I see two ways to wire the four tail lights on my car. One way is to wire the bright elements on all four lights to both the brake switch and and turn signal switch. This would give you four brake lights when braking with both on one side flashing on/off when the turn signal is on. The other way is to wire one red light on each side to illuminate when the brakes are pressed, and wire the other red light of each side to the turn signal switch. This would give you one brake light on each side and a separate flashing red light when the turn signal is on.

The point of the above explanation is to suggest you find out if your brake lights go through the turn signal switch. If they do, that may be the source of your problem. The other very common problem in these fiberglass body cars is bad grounds. If you have no lights at all from the rear lights, then it is likely a bad ground.

If you are determined to replace the harness, then several of the popular hotrod style harnesses would work. Just pick one that has electrical systems you have on your car.

The ground is good, I think you are correct about the issue being in the turning signal/brake light converter (page 133 Fig 2.13d). I have the original Build Instruction manual, but there was an update to the wiring harnesses I believe in 1997. I was given a larger scale drawing providing better detail than what is in the Build Instructions. I spent a lot of time at their shop in Tampa asking questions. Thanks for the info.
