Default oil cooler in FFR's??

I've been looking at Cobras and shopping for a while now and have started to notice that you almost never see a FFR with the oil cooler and lines in the front. Any particular reason?

probly because you only use an oil cooler on an automatic tranny and most people install 5 or 6 spds.

There are probably many reasons for the fact that a lot of FFR's don't have the oil cooler. On mine it didn't fit in the original budget and after driving the car I found that the oil temperature always stayed close to the coolant temperature anyway. So no need for extra cooling. They do look cool and if I am ever looking for somwhere to spend that extra $400 (that I don't have) the cooler would be a nice addition.

I think part of it is the price dosen't fit into the budget as already mentioned and the other is that most FFR's run small block ford engines that don't require the extra cooling. Here is a photo of the last FFR I built and I ran the oil cooler in it. If you ever plan to install an oil cooler always install a thermostat to control the oil temp going back into the engine.

Budget is a definate concern as already mentioned, although this is not a FFR, it shows how I did it.

Oil coolers in FFR's are easy to install and look sharp!
