...maybe I've been in the Lounge to much lately, LOTS of "Looney Tunes" over there. :)
|
I forgot which thread it was, but Ron spanked Pat for "doing his usual" (peeing on a manufacturer I think) and ever since then, Pat has been a little plain vanilla.
We've been getting this poetry and show tune nonsense for a while. And I've been too uninterested to Google the creative geniuses, since Pat doesn't actually write the nonsense he quotes. He did post a cute "dog in the snow" pic. |

Wow, this really deteriorated in a hurry. I'd say we need one more graph to really set this one ablaze.

Not even Pat singing show tunes is going to help the skins tonight.
EDIT: Wow, that last play of the half was like some half-baked high school play. I guess they didn't feel they really needed the points. %/ |

Yes, I run hydraulic ROLLER lifters. Thank you very much.
|
My last motor was roller lifters as well, solid roller of course... :JEKYLHYDE
|
And you want to say..........?
Come on Ernie. You can say it. Solid rollers are better than hydraulic rollers. |
Actually.... I would like to say that, but, can I say this among friends? You guys promise not to tell anyone? I mean, come on, there's "manliness" at stake here.
Some of the reports I've read, notably from KC, sure make a strong case for hydro's. Some of the problems I have with them are: 1. Cost, they are definitely more cost than a solid stick setup. 2. Even MORE cost if your looking to get some good high rpm from one. And I like high rpm, 5500 to 5800 just doesn't cut it for me. 3. There not "manly" enough (OK, I had to throw that one in). :) 4. But seriously, what I mean by that is having to adjust your valves is something I rather enjoy. It makes me feel more a part of my car, more responsible, dare I say, more intimate with my engine. I'm not sure I want to give that up, yet, but there may come a day. |

Rod runs a juice ROLLER on his 482, a combo that actually makes real power. I have an UltraDyne solid lifter cam which is .613"/.633" and works with Crane lifters. It helps 427 inches make 550 HP. I really wish Peter would institute a screening process to prevent morons from writing checks to buy ERA cars. When the boys built it for you, the tip-off was the request for two rollbars covered in rubber HVAC insulation, fastened with zips-like a "real race car", and "...tons of aluminum". Rod, The spanking administered by Ron for obnoxious behavior and supreme perceived intellect was only one in a series of several: Bob P ( a very polite and mild mannered man) clamped down when Our Boy answered every ERA thread question with a phalanx of data, links, photos (many from the ERA site or manual) and a tone of expertise when in fact that was Bob's responsibility to do so-his very reason to assist us on this forum. He is, in fact, the creator/engineer of the product! Actually, it was the minor lobotomy administered by Jamo for spouting Kirkham expertise on a comparison thread which becalmed our boy. He then entered a period of radio silence and his current milquetoast nonsense mode of communication. Hence, this dynamic expose in a tell-all-by-an-expert thread, "Why I Run Solid Lifters". Pat makes me sad I built an ERA with solid lifters. I hope the real FFR, SPF, etc guys who have been pee'd on by him don't judge all of us ERA owners as smug a$$es. Maybe if he just creates a Washington Redskins Forum as administrator and mod, he can tell them what they're doing wrong instead of us here...;) |
That Was Quite a Load...
Chas., all that because I opened a solid v. hydraulic thread? The alternative was helping a guy who's wife jammed his door stuck.

There are thousands of members on here and the stuck door or cupholder threads are very appealing to many. And they have every right to explore those areas. If the forum gets too dull for your sensibilities, search elsewhere. Just don't post drivel or stir controversy. It hurts your credibility and makes some guys victims of cheap shots.
That's why the Gasholes broke away and created their own arena. That's like the wild west compared to here and they admit or banish who they damm well please. And the content. I'm done Pat. They'll probably lock this thread as worthless... |
