Default Crower 1.8 roller rockers (stud mount) ?

I just looked at these Crower 1.8 roller rockers and have never seen them before. They look very strong. I'm confused, if the best, strongest and most stable to mount rockers is with a shaft, why are Crower's stud mounted ?

Please learn me.

Call Crower ?

Maybe the rockers are similar to another application ?

Not enough volume to justify develo0ping, manufacturing, and stocking a shaft setup.

Looks like a fairly good setup, the stud girdle gives it the ultimate strength.

All the studs secured to one another prevents failure of any one stud... or should do at least.

Be wary that increased rocker ratio also places more load on the cam lobes and lifters.

Gee, you can re-torque the heads without pulling the valve train?

This simply won't do...

I'm guessin' you have to mod for pushrod oiling?

I looked at their online catalog, nothing in it for an FE...

Since the stock ratio is 1.76, a 1.8 is not enough to have any noticeable impact on those items.

actually by stud mounting the rocker you can design for different ratios--with the fe shaft being centered for the FOUR mounting bolts/studs, the ratio is pretty well locked in to keep the pushrod centered in the manifold hole---with the stud mounted rocker, you can keep the valve tip/roller orintation and keep the pushrod centered but change the pivot point/stud location coming up with different ratios--

The guys at Crower's always are coming up with somethings truly innovative for the application instead of staying in step with the "we been doing it this way for 30 years(52 now for the FE's) They certainly are not the follow the leader crowd where the present day thinking is going off shore to see how cheap it can be made
