Default Best FE-timing chain chain/gear set ?

What brand of billet double roller timing chain chain/gear set is the best ?
I see Romac, Cloyes, Edelbrock, Comp has one.

Cloyes is a timing set manufacturer. The other two simply purchase timing parts and put them in boxes.

I like using the Cloyes or Ford Racing sets. Both have a ton of different keyways in the crank gear to dial in cam timing.

A couple of years ago I saw an article indicating Roush had gotten away from the conventional double roller type, and went to something called HyVo chain????. It had several interconecting links that appeared to be much stronger, similar to some of the earlier OEM type applications, but used metal gears instead of metal/fiber/nylon for noise reduction. What about harmonics? Anyone else see this? Opinions....

These Ford Racing HY-VOŽ timing chain and gear sets were developed by Roush Industries, Borg-Warner Automotive and Morse Tec. They feature a new generation of multi-indexing design and improved tolerances for reduced backlash. The timing chain has also been upgraded and is twice as strong as the standard Ford Racing chain.

If you are full time racing I might consider the one in the Summit link...for $500.
Or, I might consider a Cloyes (personal choice) and utilize the remaining cash other places in the build. Is it coming together the way you like Kevin?

Things are going great. I have most the parts now, all I need is the ARP complete set of bolts, pulleys from March or CRV will make a 3 pulley one off set for my motor, then will market them later. Small stuff like plug wires ect.

On Wed, Thurs & Friday, I got the cool dampner from Innovators west and Smith brothers push rods & hardware to go with the T & D shaft rocker system, Cam & their newer roller rockers from Iskey. I also got a carb. from Quick Fuel, up to 1,100 hp fuel pump, regulator and brackets from RobbMc and bellhousing from Quick Time. Dennis will be on vacation next week, then we will start the block machining.

A machine shop is making me a one off Cobra oval air cleaner assembly and possibly other parts like a oil vapor tank, overflow tank, aluminum valve covers and more,.... that I will help market each piece.

Oh,....and a fantastic deal from NISONGER INSTRUMENTS/SMITH on a full set of Smith electronic Cobra, mph reverse gauges. (including the clock) lol

Very happy & lucky so far.

Linslinger:
The farthest thing any of us are is a true racer, however we spend $$ on parts like we think we are; right?. If you are running any significant spring pressures, you'd be surprised at the stretch that takes place with the typical double roller timing chain in many of our applications.

FUNFER2 Kevin What are you running in the track car? The motors without gear drives? Sorry 1 more question, Making sure you either have a real good splash to the chain area or a direct oiling to the same area. Same goes for the distributor gear area.
Been running Cloyes for better than 30 years in almost all my motors. No failures. One is 24 years old and has just a small bow in the chain. Normal wear. As for motor 498 and the Danny bee setup, this will have to wait until next spring. $7,700.00 for new roof on house. major water damage. My 482 has the 9 hole crank gear and ford racing chain. This has 12 years and is still tight. Rick L.
I think Rousch is using those chains because of less drag and they make another 2-3 HP at 6,000 rpms over other chains. Weight savings is another thing, Lighter mass less HP loss. You should see the tiny chains our over head cam motors are running. They work fine as long as the oiling system is suppling to the chain and gears.
