Great pics.
If you use only a single oil filter, why did you move it from the original location on the block ? Do you (and others) feel that with a high HP/TQ & $$$ engine, is two filters really needed ? I prefer the uncluttered engine bay (no pun to anyone) nice & clean appearance. If I don't need to change the location using only one filter, I would rather do that than make or buy a bracket thus adding more clutter. I already will have the Accusump canister between the radiator and front of the engine, and a air breather/puke tank on the firewall, with braided hose's running from my valve covers. Yours looks great though bud. How do you like it ? How close does your pulley come to the bracket and filter ? |
As with the original CSX cars, there is no way the stock location can be used on my car with an FE because the block face is 2" away from the frame.

Pat- I just posted a new thread about using one or two filters. It sounds like you only use one. With a Moroso or K & N 10 ect....micron filter, and changing it often, why do people use two, just for piece of mind ? I mean, even on our sprint car we only use one, as with most if not all sprint cars. I do plan on trying the "Filter Mag" on the filter. |

I used the billet adapter block from Southern Automotive and ran the oil lines up to your pictured filter mount like the original cars. Now the filter is up to where it won't get damaged from road debris and its clean and easy to change. Much better setup in my opinion. |

Reverse Shot
A pic of the reverse makes the obverse make more sense.

That's sure a whole lot of unneccessary weight added to a race car-- |

Patrick--
I am one who appreciates your enthusism----you have have a very nice car and you go to great lengths to maintain it and share your experience with others---but--if you would just look at some of the rough edges of what you have done, you would either pick up points at a car show/event or at the very least eliminate some of the points that would be taken away if you get in a close run for an award. Hope maybe that helps to explain where my comment is coming from |
