Default recommendation of springs for MSD in 427

Hello all,

I am running the 2 light silver springs in my motor. I am thinking that this may be too soon for the advancement to come in.

I was thinking of using max 2 blues or a silver and blue.

Welcome to some suggestions. I am running Webers and notice a difference in sound at 2500 - 2800 in sound. But I am wondering if it is the main coming in.

This is also where the transition happens. Im thinking the sounds maybe a improper mixture at that rpm. It also happens to be highway speed cruising, so .. wondering if I can clean it up with timing?

I like the silver and the blue combo for Cobras and have used two light silvers before. If you keep the total advance at around 2400-2500 you should be fine.

I've done a bunch of experimenting, first with a 1x4 and now with my 2x4s. The sweet spot for my 427 is with two light blue springs, 18* initial and 36* total timing.

I use 2 light silver springs in a MSD with a 454 FE single 850 QuikFuel carb. It runs like a raped ape off of idle.

I settled for two light blue with a Black bushing. Advance starts at 1500 rpm and is all in by 2500 rpm.
