Stacks on FE?

My modur of choice will be an FE, no doubt about it.

I think I want a stack system on top. While the Webers are the pure way to go, I think I'll make a concession to some more modern engine management methods and go with an EFI stack system.

The question: does just a thing exist? I know it does for the small blocks, but what about the FE? And if so, who makes it? Anyone personally know of a builder with direct experience in such a set-up?

Thanks.

Yes, TWM makes a set http://www.twminduction.com/v8_kits/427.html

So does Inglese http://www.compperformancegroupstore...htStackSystems

Another company makes them too, can not remember their name right now.

I'm building an FE with TWM Stacks, with the FAST EZ-EFI injection system, should be fun :)

Alan:
Several systems available. I'm sure someone will chime in with info for you.

Try Jim Inglese for the Webers (not Inglese Induction Systems)
http://www.jiminglese.com/index.html

or Wayne Presley for stack FI
http://www.verycoolparts.com/

Both have a lot of experience with BB Cobras.

My system is by Imagine Injection www.imagineinjection.com in Pheonix and is on a 428 FE.

What are those block areas between the stacks? It makes them look pretty "heavy"

This company does the Weber look-a-like without the visible fuel rails:

TWM was purchased by Borla.

Those are NICE. It's hard to tell that it's fuel injection.

Inglese makes a real nice system at about half the price of the TMW system. I have it on my SBF and it works with the EZ Fast EFI managment system.

Hope this helps.

Here are a couple examples of TWM based sytems - one with a Big Stuff 3 controller, the other with a FAST EZ_EFI.

I had one of Waynes on my FE. I was fun and looked really cool. Got lots of attention when I opened the hood.

Great info, everyone! And thanks for the pron, which does nothing except reinforce my direction. It's an expensive direction to go, I know, but I plan on building only one of these so why the hell not.

I'll look at all the options (including the Weber carb route) and get all learned up before making any decision. Heck, I haven't even started the build yet, so I'm a good ways out on getting the engine.

Thanks again.

On the subject of stacks.... is it necessary to get angled stacks for the cobra? My engine builder asked if I wanted to go with the 10 degree angled stacks for clearance... I have seen both vertical and angled set ups in different cobras.

Most likely the angled stacks you are seeing are on the big blocks.
Never seen them on a small block.

Kramer 04-20-2011 02:10 PM

Yep... Mostly big blocks...also depends on the type and style if stacks/ horns

Kramer 04-20-2011 02:12 PM

Ps..did u decide on the induction system / engine combo?
