Coming soon, Twin Paxton 527C.I. SOHC
About to start putting together a 527C.I. twin Paxton Super Charged SOHC for a special Kirkham build. Kirkham is making the mounting brackets right now for the Paxtons. We have everything machined and ready to go together when we get the parts from Kirkham.
I will be posting some pictures of the parts used and of the build. Will also get a video of the pulls on the dyno. Shelby 4.375 bore block with 4340 4.375 stroke crank. CNC ported Bill Coon heads with Dove 2X4 intake and special built carburetors for the boost. This will be a street driven beast and should be about as neat as it gets in a Cobra. The first one being done this way as far as I know. This will be about a 9 month project by the time the engine is done but not your tipical build for sure.
Thanks, Keith Craft

And just out of curiosity, what would it set us back if we decided to buy one and have it installed in a Cobra with the appropriate transmission?
Send me PM if you prefer.
Thanks, tin-man

Well do not have the exact number as of yet but it will be somewhere in the 55,000.00 range complete with the Paxtons, brackets, belts of the dyno. You would still have to get the clutch and pressure plate, bell hosuing and transmission. The cars have to be modified to get the engine in to them. You would also have to have custom headers done. Not a cheap project for sure.
Thanks, Keith

That's awesome. Lots of great engines coming out here in the past month or two. Horsepower seems to not have a ceiling anymore....LOL Guys are ordering 700-800hp engines like bottled water...

The latest Hot Rod magazine has articles about unusual engine combinations that were done just to show they could be. These high concept engines are more art than science.

Hey John - remember in the dim, dark past my post "How much power is enough?" IMHO, you guys are standing on the edge, looking into la-la land, pal!
My very best wishes go to you all. A twin Paxton superchanged SOHC? Yikes!
Cheers,
Glen

It simply amazes me that there seems to be no end to Horse Power. I know how easily my Cobra can bite me. I can't imagine having that much power in a Cobra, and how tempting it would be to use it. I look forward to reading as this goes on. If I ever win the lottery………..

Hard to see with the tiny pics but it looks like a mouse motor. If so, I'd say that little puppy is already trounced.

I'm thinking you'll need to hook a tow bar onto that cobra, just so that you can tow the fuel tanker required to supply the fuel
I get the feeling she'll drink like a fish :LOL:

Well, if the Cobra is shipped out here to Northern California, all the Prius owners will sneer at the owner.

Keith, you should add some spray to really cool the intake charge, and add a little more power, not that it needs it.

Don't the SOHC engines have a really long pulley belt and would this be problematic trying to add 2 supercharger pulleys to the equation? Just wondering, but I love the overkill concept. Cheers.
