Default LoBaks

The classic chambered looks like a good design, ought to sound nice too.
Only problem is the largest they make is 3" in/out.
I have 3.5" LoBak sprint car mufflers on my 427. They have a 4" core with a center tube and 2 spiral deflectors. No packing whatsoever so the sound or performance won't change over time.
They may be a bit loud for some, especially on my 12.5/1 motor, but I love them. Just have to wear earplugs on a long drive.

Contemporary Cobra all coilover suspension... Here is what I did. First engine I had was a 428 Cobra Jet. Not bad, car was fast and nice till it dropped an exhaust valve.
New engine was a 427SO with 428 crank, medium riser heads big cam 750 single 4 barrel... When i installed the engine, lots of low end but died above 4,000 rpm very disappointed.
After thinking about the problem I did this, I added parallel mufflers under the car and took exhaust behind the collector and re- inserted it after the muffler.
The car sounds great now it screams to 6,000 no problem.
It completely transformed the car! I have had the car for 20 years and this exhaust has been on for 19 years.

Cool

Clever solution, if a bit complex & heavy. Ever thought of adding a crossover pipe?

I've got a customer here locally that has bought several sets of my mufflers & one of his cars is pretty high HP - like over 600. He thought a larger flowpath like 3.5" would give him some extra punch (I can only make mine with cores as big as 3"), so he went with the Howe 3.5" core mufflers.

First off, they were so loud, he could not stand to drive the car any distance. Secondly & most important, he did not gain any HP. At the flow rate of my 3" Cobrapacks, dual exhaust with them will support approx. 1450 loss-free HP. The extra diameter was of no benefit. That would go the same for any 3" flowpath muffler with a similar core design.
