Oil restrictor in heads on Sideoiler?
I am using .080" oil restrictors on my Edelbrock heads with Dove rockers.
Are they really needed?
I know that center oilers needed the restrictors because oil was fed to the front main bearing, camshaft and rockers before the remaining main bearings.
But in sideoilers, where generous oiling is allready fed first to the main bearings journals, what is the point of using restrictors in the heads ?
Isn't it more important to get enough oil up the heads to cool the valves?
I am considering not installing any restrictors, despite Keith suggestion of using .070" ones.
Any knowledge on this from anybody with sideoilers ? Anybody prevent me from doing a mistake ?
Thanks
