These cars are nothing more than fun little diversions -- just treat them that way.

No, my post is directly on point. FR65 is considering making a decision based on the sound of a component. You only do that with your toys. Fortunately, that's perfectly acceptable here... and I politely pointed that out.

FR65's question is about the sound difference of two types of cams. "You only do that with toys" is off-point.....again.

No it's not. Note Blykins response of "you need the hydraulic cam." The whole point of this hobby is that these are toys -- it's not what you need, but rather what you want. Just like being stuck inside of Mobile (with the Memphis blues again).

Sound check please. Testing 1, 2, 3.
Vector1's response was on point. Yours? Not.

Hmmph. Well, in that case, I think the sound is more like "oogachaka, oogachaka, doo-wa, diddy, diddy." Or, the OP could just listen to the beautiful beat of my solid lifters in the link in my signature.

My job is to make qualifications based on the customer's testimony, then build the engine.
Pete and I have talked many times, and although he hasn't ordered an engine yet, he has emphasized the need for durability, reliability, and the ability to drive long stretches at a time while cruising.
My recommendation would be the hydraulic roller...since it's a little more than a "toy" with this type of reasoning.

Alright, nothing wrong with that. But I'm still putting you in the "debutante" category and not in the "Ruthie" category. Especially since you don't have a honkey-tonk lagoon.

I'm going with a hydraulic roller cam, just was curious the difference of sound with an FE engine, thanks Brent, I'm getting close, can't wait for one of your 600hp tourque monsters for my Kirkham, nicknamed PRIDEnJOY...
