Default Ede Performer RPM intake manifold / capillaries

I have an Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold on my FE 428, and a set of smiths cobra capillary gauges.... which have UK Imperial threads (I think) .... anyway, they dont fit the Ede, which im guessing has some sort of NPT thread? Can anyone tell me what thread adaptor i need for the capillary take-offs. Have been trawling interspleb without any joy.

Call Peter at Nisonger Instruments. He will have the correct adapter. Make sure you have the washer on the "bulb" end of the capillary tube when you screw it into the adapter.

although maybe my original post wasnt clear- so my question is

what is the thread size for the hole for the water/coolant temperature sensor on an Edelbrock RPM mounted on an FE 428. i have a feeling it isnt 1/8 NPT?

cheers, kevin

Temp sensors should be 3/8 NPT if it is a ford sensor. == if not that would be odd.

Default ...dumb question:

OK tried hand tightening the 3/8 NPT adaptor - it goes hand tight after 2 and half turns before it need a wrench on it.....so, how far do i need to tighten with a wrench/socket...i dont want to strip the threads. 2.5 turns doesnt seem many turns before being hand-tight, when there are 6 complete threads/turns on the adaptor!

Remember pipe threads are interference fitted and tighten quite a bit as they are threaded in. As long as you are using some thread sealer, another couple of turns should be fine. If you really want it to go in farther then get a 3/8 pipe tap and take the manifold threads out a smidge, just don't go wild with the pipe tap.
