Default A 696 hp 465 inch Tunnel Port FE....

I've posted this on a couple of the other forums that I frequent. I just think it's old-school cool, and frankly, I'm pretty excited about it.

The build consisted of a Pond cast iron block, with a 4.310" bore. RPM 3.980" crankshaft with BBC rod journals, Race Tec domed pistons (12:1 compression), Lunati H-beam rods, and a custom Comp Cams solid roller cam, 260/270 @ .050", 108 LSA, .750" lift.

Heads and intake were ported by a local guy who's just a genius, for a lack of better words. He got 380 cfm out of the old Tunnel Port heads by making them smaller.

Two Quick Fuel 725cfm carbs were on top and I mounted a GZ Motorsports vacuum pump pulling 8 inches of vacuum on the front of it.

We had dyno'd this engine before, without head work, and with a cam to band-aid the cylinder head characteristics. It made 600 hp at full song.

This time, the first pull to just 5200 rpm netted us the 600 hp. Subsequent tuning and higher pulls yielded 654, 680, and finally 696 hp. Torque was 589 lb-ft.
