Default Underdrive pulleys

I am putting a tuff stuff super cool aluminum water pump on my 428 which I assume moves move water, with under drive pulleys would it move about the same amount of water as my OEM pump did? Or should I stay with a 1:1 ratio? I never did have any cooling issues.

How much water did you original pump move and how much water does your new pump move?

Their promotional material describes their water pumps as either "standard flow" or "high flow." It would be useful to know the difference (e.g., 10% more, 50%, 100%, ???). That might tell you how much underdrive the high flow could take and still perform like a standard flow. ... But that leaves me wondering why not just get the standard flow. But perhaps parts availability is part of your challenge.

I looked Tuff Stuff's website and their very non-specific on the flow. MFR's tend to exaggerate claims though. Where you'd run into problems is at a prolonged idle at high temps in traffic. Personally, I would NOT put an underdrive pulley on it. You could quite possibly be headed for overheating problems.

I didn’t realize at the time I ordered a supercool pump which flows 30% more. I want to get a pulley set from CVF there V belt system has a 5.4 crank and a 6.2 pump pulley. There serpentine beast system is 1-1 but is a little pricey. Don’t know how much my old OEM cast iron pump flowed

Without knowledge of how much the original pump flowed it is relatively difficult to determine how a change in flow attributable to a new pump which you do not know the flow characteristics of will change that flow.

All that said however, it would be safe to say the two would flow relatively different.
