Hi Michael,
The use of offset dowel bushings is pretty old school technology.
If it were me, I would spend $75.00 and buy a new timing set with a 9-position adjustable crank sprocket. I'm not for spending money for the sake of it, but a new timing set will make it much easier to degree your cam in. If you are not going to degree your cam, (gasp!)  , how can you be sure that the old, bushing adjustable cam sprocket is going to put the cam "in" where you want it? At least with a new timing set you can install it "straight up" and be sure the cam is "in" where it should be.
