Default Engine Factory BB??

I have been considering using the Engine Factory, among others, to build a 428 for me. The main reasons I have am considering them is that they will build exactly what I want using the parts I want and they are close to home if there are any problems. However, I think they do mainly SBs and am not aware of anyone who has a BB from them. In fact, their website does not even offer a 428 as one of their standard packages (although they do offer a 390).

Does anyone have a 428 (or 390) from the Engine Factory? Any insight you could give me would be most appreciated. Also, if you have a SB from them feel free to chime in about their quality, workmanship, customer support, etc.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I just recieved a 390FE from the engine factory. Seems like good overall workmanship and I liked the fact that they are close to me as well (CT). Timing was OK and they delivered that block year that I had requested. Cost was fairly reasonable.

It looks like most guys go with Southern Automotive or Gessford for their FE's . I will be going with a 351 from EF. Chris is a great guy to work with!

Chaplin:

Since you're in North Jersey, you might want to investigate Jeff Lawrence Racing on Long Island. He did my 428 and it's awesome.

He's done a lot of work for HRE. Billy's standards are absolutely the highest, and that alone says a mouthful for Jeff.

Scott-
Thanks for the reference, I will give them a call. Can you tell me what they did to your motor, what parts they used and what the ball park price was? I've got quotes from 3 or 4 different places and its tough comparing apples to apples. Feel free to email me directly at mchaplyn@aol.com if you don't want to post the info here.

Thanks again,
Mike
