428 Standard vs. PI
I am starting the process of building a 428 and want to know how big a difference there is in the standard 428 vs. the 428 PI. I already have a standard 428 and am looking for a PI block (hard to find standard bore) becuase I want to stay as close as possible to the orginal spec of the "street" Cobra.
From my reading I know that the main bearing webs are reinforced but other then that I can't find any block differnce. The PI seems to be the precurser to the CJ engines.
Am I carzy building the standard 428.
BTW, I will never race this car, it will striclty be street driving and maybe I might bring it to Lime Rock to open it up once or twice.
All opinions are welcome.
TIA
