valve seal replacement..
I fired up my 428 and noticed a small puff of blue smoke out the right side.. This engine sat for quite awhile before I bought it , 5 years actually.. 3 of those years it wasn't started. The bottom end is almost new with less than 2500 miles. the top end less than 20k.
I suspect a valve guide seal as the compression is excellent, it runs good and doesn't burn oil.. Doesn't foul the plugs.. It only does it after it has been run or warmed up and shut off.. Never when it is cold or is just running..
The question is does anyone know where I can find a FE valve compressor tool that works with the heads on? MOPAR sells a lever device that bolts into the place of the rocker arm shaft. I am hoping to do this with the heads and manifold on using compressed air.. Has anyone used the MOPAR unit or is there one for Ford?
Thanks in advance.
