Default S/o Test!!!

Suppose your looking under the hood of a ????? and the owner says, Yeah it's a Side Oiler. Well, there is one way to tell
when you only have a view from the top, if you know, gimmie the first letter of the four words, P or H is acceptable for the last word.

HA HA,,,,Rolex tip off.....good one.

I'll have to review the "watch thread" to see what else might apply. Careful,,,,it could be a "replica" Rolex.

Not only the screw in frost plugs but also the left side (driver's) has bulge (side oil gallery) just above the cross bolts and (as jwoodwrd said) there are three plugs in this oil gallery to plug where the gallery was drilled to create the oil passages to the main bearings.

Mr0077 had the correct answer, Remember, I said 'you only have a view from the top'.

Hey, the only thing I ever won! Thank you, thank you...and now, just a short speech...
Seriously, I thought that would be it, but you have to REALLY look on mine to see that plug...I've been chasing leaks there and can just barely see it (with a light) from the top.

Ken, one thing I noticed when I installed a plug is that it would block approx. 50% of the oil galley, I used a brass hex head plug after I milled off half the threads. No obstruction now.

Sooooo, THAT'S why my oil pressure was so good, hmmmm?
Seriously, George A cautioned me about screwing it in too far. Mine finally got sealed, but I'll remember your trick if it starts on me again. Thanks.

Only side oilers have the machine-thread plug at the front of the side gallery, the one near the oil filter adapter pad...'cause C/O motors don't have the side gallery, so it isn't drilled, so no need for a plug...right?

Real side oiler owners, the guys that built and installed them themselves would never be caught dead wearing a Rolex.

SC, you're a riot...and you're right, the guys that built and installed them themselves can't AFFORD a Rolex...a Relox, maybe, but no Rolex.
On the frost plugs, I bet you'd be "frosted" if they DID pop out...Maybe that's how they got their name? "Once upon a time there was this ordinary plug..."
