hello everyone I'm new to this but I'm realizing there's much knowledge here and right now I need some help I've a 68 galaxie with a 390 engine want to soup it up some but keep it a sleeper I always thought that the 390 was a strong running engine...but I'm finding out it might be best to put in a 302 and I've had this car about 6yrs and the only thing I've done to it is put dual exhaust on it so right now I'm not too sure my compressions are low so I thought to buy 428 heads and replace my old ones but over here in hawaii you got to take what you can get and I'm not sure to what degree with this engine whether it been rebuilt or not so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'll appreciate it and I talk with a company in CA and they said they'll have a 390 crate engine pushing 325hp ready to drop in the galaxie if I wanted to go that route for $4,000.00 so if someone can tell me about this 390 engine and is the 302 better power wise...but money wise I think it's the 302
