Default Weber manifolds on a FE

I have a 427 FE stroked to 462. I presently have a 2x4 setup on the motor. I also have a set of Weber 48mm IDAs sitting on the bench (the newly manufactured ones) from a previous motor project. I plan to install the Webers sometime in 2004. When the motor was built, I knew that I would eventually get around to installing the Webers so the engine builder installed a Weber friendly cam.

The question I have now is what manifold do you Weber guys recommend and why? I see that Pierce, Holman Moody, Inglese, and TWM all have FE IDA manifolds. Does Blue Thunder also make a Weber manifold? Whichever one I purchase, I will go with the 10° slanted pads.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Robert

I don't think there will be much difference in an intake with a 2"runner. I would not think there would be any noticable performance differences.

I think this is truly a matter of personal preference as I don't believe there is any performance difference between the various weber intakes. Just make sure the intake ports work with your heads.

If it's just personal preference, I like the plain Holman Moody with the highlighted hm in the valley area and the center-located breather tube.

Though really, once all the webers, linkage and fuel lines are mounted, you don't really see much of the intake itself.

Rob I had Webers on an FE in my SPF and had to use the 10' tilt to clear the hood with std length stacks. I purchased my manifold from Holman Moody.. It is a Blue Thunder though. Only the straight up model has "HM" on it..Steve McD

Thanks for the answers guys. I am trying to determine if there might be any significant differences in the various offerings out there. It appears from the answers here that there may not be any huge variables other than matching the manifold with my heads.

Thanks,
Robert
