Default Chroming or Jet hot coating

I have a set of Side pipes that I would like to chrome. But I understand that they will turn after sometime.
Is there a difference between Jet hot coating and cerami-coating.

Which one is better and can anyone recommend a place to have this process done.
Also I have an expanison tank that will need to be chrome any sugguestions?

Jet Hot's process is ceramic coating. While they pioneered it some time ago, you might be able to find a local business that does the same thing just as well. The CACC guys found a great one in Virginia, which many of us use.

The primary advantage of ceramic on pipes and headers is that it dissipates extreme heat very quickly. Most of the chrome or stainless pipes I've seen are discolored, at least at the point where they elbow exiting the body.

Look in the Consumer Watch forum and you will find several opinion on Jet-Hot style coatings. And on Jet-Hot themselves.

Clay,
Do you have the # or the name of the place located in Virginia.

Also what would you recommend for the expansion tank

Thanks

G & T Performance Coatings in Fredericksburg, VA. They are also perfectionists and will re-do them multiple times, if they come out with the tiniest imperfection. Had mine redone there over the Christmas holidays.

(540)752-6133.

I've never sent anything out to be chromed, but you definitely should be able to find a local source for that expansion tank. It's not going to be exposed to the high temps the pipes will be.
