Spark plugs in FE's
My car came with Bosch 4226 Platinums .I had tried Bosch platinums in a Land Cruiser,They fouled the quickest. I ended up using NGK's with great satisfaction.
I had a time with carbon fouling In the replica's iron blocked 427 withalluminum heads ,turned out to be the CD ignition box.I was cleaning the plugs in a plug cleaner between tests. I had NGK 2438 W R 5"s in it when I found the CD ignition box was the problem and left them in without cleaning them . I've had it quite a few times with box bypassed and with new box and it seemes to run great onced warmed up. Now the weather is colder. I have no chokes on the carbs. The car Runs ruff untill warmed up.Always seamed to cleanup once warmed up.A week ago I backed the car out of the garage between rain showers and tried to wash off all the alluminm wheel polishing residue and then back into the garage. This Friday I needed to take the car to a shop for planned upcomming work. The performance hardly improved after a run out on the freeway.I changed the cleaned Bosch's back into the 427. Allways with a coating of never seize on threads.
Do you see any errors here with my plug selection? Any other reccamendations ? What were your experiences ?Can I expect all this to go away when warm weather arrives ?
