Need Some Valve Cover Advice
Guys,
I'm having trouble finding some valve covers to fit my application....working with very large OD valve springs (for high lift solid roller cam) and a Crane roller rocker setup.
What will fit?
I bought a set of Blue Thunder cast aluminum pentroofs, but they won't fit....they hit on everything.
Will a set of stamped chrome pentroofs fit?
Looks like my only real choice is a set of fabricated sheet metal covers....would like to know if I have other options.

I need to get a line on my new Bauer Reel. It had one on it but it's not in very good shape. I need to get out, the Steelies are currently in the rivers in our area. I've been putting in too much time at work............

I have not had any problems with the Ford Racing Cobra Lemans covers on any of our stuff. I know that because of the way some of the rocker end stands are, I have had to grind a little on the end stand for the cover to go down but no problem with the springs. These are prett reasonable at 169.00 I believe. Good luck, Keith

Brent,
I had to perform the endstand milling that Keith8 wrote about on my setup. I am running a modestly high lift cam with the double spring combination. When I went to see if the cast aluminum pentroof Shelby valve covers (found at a neighborhood garage sale for 15 bucks!) would fit, we found they were catching on the end stands, milled the stands down and now have a good fit.
We turned the engine over a few times and all was well, no banging, rubbing, or clacking.
These too are the Cobra LeMans type, I think you know who has a set or two iif you want me to ask him.
Mark
This gives a reasonable look at how tall the covers are
