Default Intake Question

I have seen on some of the SO's at the rear of the intake an oil breather and some with a line, going to, I assume a puke tank or carb. I am going for the "correct" look in my SO. Which is the "correct" one? My mechanic tells me that the oil breather is the original look, and that Blue Thunder has a nice one.

Search the site for puke tank and you should find lots of posts on this and some pictures of originals. The tank I believe is the original style with a line going to it from the rear plate on the intake and a road draft tube hanging down under the car. The tanks will probably run you close to $400.

Default There both OK and will pass at a show

I currently have the rear polished breather however I just built a custom stainless oil return tank. I plan to give that a try soon so the polished breather may be for sale in a few weeks.

If you are running a 1x4 carb setup, the correct way is the vent plate, with the hose going to the puke tank. The aluminum breathers that some people put on, are for the street 2x4 carb set up (hence the "S" shape to clear the rear carb). These were used on street cars, which had no puke tanks.

Thanks very much, guys. I was a little confused when I was seeing so many variations. I like the "S" shaped breather, but I'll go with the hose to the puke tank, to keep it "correct." Thanks again. Does anyone carry the puke tank?
