Default My FE has arrived :)

I know it's GT40 bound but my FE had been delivered from Huddart Engines in the UK

Slightly over the spec I originally went for, but no complaints from this end

560bhp at 6000RPM, 580ft/lb at 4000 RPM


Engine Front


Engine Rear


Engine Left side


Engine Right side


The replacement "Baldy" rocker covers

1973 block.
Eagle crank and rods.
Custom forged pistons @ 10.5 compression.
Steel damper.
Internal balance.
Edelbrock alloy heads with Victor manifold and 750cfm Holley double pumper carburettor.
MSD distributor and control box with 6000rpm rev limiter.
Edelbrock alloy water pump.
Comp Cams mechanical cam and roller rockers.
Complete AVIAID dry sump kit with 3” oil pan, 4 stage pump with Gilmer drive.

They came from Dennis Carpenter over there in the USA (C3AZ-6582-PR) cost was $130US + shipping.

My FE is set up for crank breathing through the (currently) capped adaptor in the rear of the intake manifold.

Sorry man, that's a Performer manifold. Love the dry sump oiling though.

That's looking sharp! Since I'm ignorant when it comes to Porsches, did you have to invert the transaxle? If so what mods are necessary to keep it functioning?

Hi Steve,
yes the Porsche box needs to be inverted to run in a 40.

As they are normally mounted infront of their engines when in Porsche, putting it behind mine and inverted keeps all the gears going the right way. There are no oiling problems with inverting the box either, I will be running a pump and cooler though to keep the temps down.

Glad to see a FE going in a 40. Every other build I see runs a SB..
