Did you see the Top Gear where they took a new Z06 and set a new record for widest speed range in one gear...something like from 25mph to 175.

It's all about bottom end torque, a "no replacement for displacement" kinda thing.. At 81 mph I'm at 1400 rpm and knocking down 28 mpg in my Z. Give it some gas at that RPM and it still moves out smartly. Except for the 1400 rpm and 28 mpg parts my Cobra has the same characteristics. The increased cubes become addictive.
