That's true to a certain degree. I can't argue against the "safety aspect" of breaking in a hydraulic (and Rick's going to have to post an audio clip of his engine before I believe it sounds just like solids...but it might, so don't get mad at me Rick). And performance-wise, today's hydraulics are pretty much just as good as solids.
