Default Not trying to be smart but,

flipscobra Have you goggled the part and tryed Ford parts? I know they are having problems with caps and rotors but it's a hell of alot easier to go with MSD distributors and boxes. AutoZone, Pepboys, A&S, all carry MSD basic parts. I carry in the car a spare distributor, MSD 6AL box and the tools to swap it over. Takes 10 minutes to get you back on the road, if the motor is cool. Mark the timing on the housing. This will save you this issue on the side of the road. Rick Lake Ps I know this is what you didn't want to hear, just trying to help.

A spare distributor in your car!!!! Oh hobbiest of little faith..

BTW.. I'm running a regular ol' brass contact Blue Streak Chevy cap/rotor with the points adjust window on my MSD Pro Billet FE distributor. I've had it on for 2 years and the carbon button/contacts still look brand new. There's no reason to run MSD's POS cap/rotor..

I've always carried a spare distributor (and other parts and tools) with me on any out-of-town trip in my '52 MG TD. You never know . . . .

Default I Hate Walking!!!!!!

undy Dave I hate walking. I learned a long time ago to alway be prepared. Cars are like women, you never know what you will need, when you will need it, or how long it takes to finish the job. I am not a boyscout, but don't ever want to be not prepared. Rick L. Ps are you sitting on the beach again???You need to get out of the sun. It's frying your brain.

I had one in my CSX when I got it. Took it out and sold it on ebay. Was going to suggest that but seems others here have better links. Dont' forget there's 3 different boxes, the A,B and C301. I had the C301. Swapped it out for a newer ignition system because I wanted to run a Pertronix Ignitor in my original 427 distributor and the C301 box won't work with that.
