Thanks for the informative post. Well, they had the plugs out but never asked themselves about the blocked passage. This does not fill me with confidence. This shop was chosen for the wrong reasons, I'm sorry to say - they had a less than 5 weeks backlog. The engine manual strongly recommended 10W-30 as break-in oil, but 1968 oil is probably a different animal than 2008 oil. I will do a little internet research on break-in practice and procedure.
